October 14 Midweek Update

October 14 Midweek Update

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

Reconciled in Christ, to be blameless before the Father. Or, in the language of Romans, vessels to showcase God’s glory. As Pastor Rhett returns to our Captivated with Christ series in Colossians this Sunday, he’ll explore more of this idea of how Christ reconciled us to God in Colossians 1:21-23. I want us to ponder this question: what is the goal of Christ’s reconciliation? When we are made right with God, what is the point of it all?

When we are fully glorified before God’s sight, we will have many dimensions to our glory. Perfected in knowledge, righteousness, and holiness. Freed from all sin, misery, and decay. To use a more concrete picture, we are like trophies that God will show off to the rest of perfected creation. He will use us to show off the power of His redemption. He can make even those corrupted in and out by sin into fully glorified and spotless sons and daughters. No trace or stain or worry of rebellion anymore. And He shows us off to tell everything everywhere that He is the One who did it.
